A colourful day and a big crowd suggest the Motueka Rudolf Steiner Autumn Fair is now an established event. Even the forecast for heavy rain did not discourage visitors. Fortunately the rain held off until mid-afternoon and the planned bon fire was lit an hour earlier than programed. Both local newspapers sent reporters, and for the first time Mainland TV sent a camera and reporter. You can watch the 7 minute news segment here.
The fair is clearly focused on families and children. All games and stalls are provided by the parents, who dress up in costumes for the day. Money raised on the day goes toward the running costs of the school.
