Autumn Fair- 2 April

Sunday 2 April 2017. 10am to 4pm

Rain or shine its on.

A well-established family fun day promising a great line-up of games, entertainment, produce, craft and food.  Experience the magical atmosphere at a school fair with a difference.  The decorations and festive atmosphere are a delight for children who love to revisit the games and crafts they remember from year to year.
New this year is the giant water slide and a new venue at the school farm.  The water slide promises a wet and wild ride so bring togs and towel.  This will be our first event on the school farm, a chance to see the farm and the location of the new Rudolf Steiner School.
The unique games and activities are hand crafted and run by the school community.  Activities for the younger children are designed to capture their imaginations and fill them with wonder.  Don’t miss the enchanted Faraway land with puppet show, face painting, bite the apple, dragon stories, and search for the elves treasure.  For the older children there will be a climbing wall, sling shot, obstacle course, gumboot throw and pony rides.  Also check out the hair braiding and henna art.
The autumn festival celebrates harvest and the bountifulness of Mother Nature.  Produce stalls will be selling local, spray free and organic produce, autumn plants and seedlings. Food stalls will be offering a delicious selection of treats and wholesome dishes.  Try the coffee, salads, curries, soups, lamb pittas, crepes, waffles, patatas and ice cream..
Craft stalls will provide hands-on opportunities to learn a craft and make something personal to take home.  Try candle dipping, wax leaf dipping, acorn necklace, painted T-shirts, and autumn crowns.  The Midnight Elves stall will be selling their beautiful hand crafted treasures.  These unique dolls, animals and fairy world toys are all lovingly created from natural fibres.
Meet the teachers and learn more about Steiner Education.  Find out how the Waldorf approach is different to mainstream education.  Walking tours on the farm will happen once an hour.  Come and see the farm and the school site.  Learn how the farm will be integrated into the school curriculum.
Somehow the line-up of entertainers, speakers and musicians gets better every year.  This year you can enjoy Roger Lusby, Ian Simpson, Sol Morgan, Lemongrass, Tobias, Harmony Aquarian, Konkoba, Jiggery Folkery, Ukulele Krazeee, and the Twisty Twins.
The event finishes with a bonfire, where we burn paper dragons as a symbol overcoming our personal dragons.
New Venue, 165 Robinson Road, Lower Moutere.
Gold coin donation. All stalls and games created by the school community.
