We were overjoyed to receive the news that our application for state integration has been accepted by the Ministry of Education.
Integration will take effect from the beginning of 2021 which coincides with our move to our new eco-campus on our 13.6 hectare farm on the outskirts of Motueka. Integration allows us to hold our special character as a Steiner farm school while working alongside and being supported by the mainstream educational system.
The new farm campus will provide a unique opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings and have access to orchards and a newly developed Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programme and bio-dynamic farming practices on our school grounds!
The new classrooms have been designed to maximise the outdoor teaching spaces and indoor-outdoor flow to support learning.
As part of our outdoor classroom programme, the students will be involved in land care, soil health and food growth and preparation in the organic gardens and outdoor kitchen. Woodwork and metalwork classes will take place in the farm workshop and additional spaces will be developed to create sports fields and courts.
Children who spend time outdoors are more present and engaged in their learning, have improved concentration skills, are energised and enthusiastic, have an inner calmness, have positive relationships, keen observation skills, ability to reflect……and more!
Come and be part of a community of parents past and present, founders, and many friends and supporters as we embark on our new exciting journey as a farm-based Steiner school.
We would love to welcome new families to be part of this warm, vibrant, and inclusive community.
Spaces are now available for our primary school classes. Please get in touch if you would like any further information. Our email address is: [email protected]
