Class Teacher recruitment

Applications close Friday 11 December, 3pm

Full time, Fixed Term (1 February – 17 December 2021)

Primary/Composite (Years 1–8), Certificated teacher

The Motueka Steiner School is at an exciting stage in its development. We are inviting a creative and dynamic teacher to apply to teach our Class 2 in 2021.

We have a diverse multicultural student population of 85 tamariki from Y1–8 and are the only Rudolf Steiner school in Te Tau Ihu (Top of the South Island) region.  After privately operating for 18 years, we are transitioning to become a state integrated school as well as relocating to our picturesque 13ha farm-school site where the construction process is well underway.

Our ideal applicant will be strong both academically and artistically and have a high level of expertise in meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners.  Most of all, we seek a teacher who is able to foster a love of learning in children, create a positive and healthy social dynamic within the class and is inspired to interweave our farm setting and local environment into the Steiner curriculum wisely.

A willingness and ability to take part in the Special Character of the School is a condition of appointment to this position, and the Proprietor will give preference to teachers with Steiner training or experience.  Any person appointed to the position of class teacher at the school must accept this requirement as a condition of the person’s appointment and must accept and recognise a responsibility to maintain and preserve the special character of the School.  New Zealand teacher registration is required.
